A Croatia travel destination next to the unique Plitvice National Park that holidaymakers may wish to consider this summer is the Kornati Islands. The Croatian National Tourist Board has highlighted theregion as somewhere those looking for accommodation in Croatia might want to stay. It described the Kornati Islands as the „most indented island group in the Mediterranean“.
The most indented archipelago in the Mediterranean, the Kornati are the continuation of Telašćica Nature Park which, in turn, boasts the safest, most beautiful and largest natural port of the Adriatic, rocks that plummet into the sea from a height of 200 metres, and Lake Mir – the only saltwater lake on the Adriatic.
The island of Murter is located in the northwest part of Šibenik archipelago, separated from the mainland by narrow sea canal at Tisno which is spanned by a 12 meter draw-bridge. . Located at the entrance to the Kornati Islands, Murter is an attractive spot for yachtmsmen, and all lovers of quiet relaxation. The region of the Krka River was pronunced a national park due to its geological and hydrological uniqueness, mainly because of the process of the tufa deposits which have built waterfalls. Until today in the Krka national park around 900 diffrent types of plant life have been recorded, of which these are made up of a mixture of endemic and very rare varieties.
